the fifth release on baud music is the 2029 ep by dario zenker aka 4.26 from munich. distorted dub imitations rooted in a rhythmic foundation, supplemented with penetrating driving shakes, shape the character of the first track the chief. a floating, thumping bass line and claps with elegant dreamy strings characterize the second track least one on the a side. the flip side welcomes us with sherhood with his straight solid beat and a dominant, catchy hook. alen combines dubtechno and dupstep into free-floating wave elements and obscures the perception of the 4/4 time, which transfers the listener into a state of suspense.

samples of songs, speeches, interviews, field recordings and films were carefully chosen and rearranged: rhythms from africa are integrated with voices from harlem, conversations about race and identity between writers and ethnomusicologists are constructed, speeches from activists are conjoined with the voices of prisoners. this process of combining pre-existing material has inspired three >meditations on afrocentrism<.

two years after his ripple effect release on rush hour, kirk degiorgio returns to the label with a new single, entitled divine logic. the legendary uk techno producer kirk degiorgio is known as a purveyor of techno soul in its finest form. he was at the root of the uk techno movement in the early 90s, soon after the detroit sound went global. he has recorded many now classic releases under guises as future/past, as one and elegy for labels such as planet e, r&s and mo wax as well as his own art label. with divine logic he keeps true to his own tradition by delivering a timeless piece of techno music. a string-laden track that evolves around an arpeggiated synth line. a classy joint that shows that the heritage of detroit techno still lives on.
